Most smokers and vapers already know every reason to stop. What makes it hard is the habit and the moments it's tied to: the first coffee, the car, the break at work. Hypnotherapy focuses on exactly those moments.

What it can feel like

You might have tried patches, gum or cold turkey. The cravings, the routine and the "just one" thoughts have a way of pulling you back.

How hypnotherapy can help

Before your session we talk through your smoking or vaping in detail: when, where and why. In the session itself we work on the triggers and the part of you that reaches for a cigarette automatically, and strengthen the part of you that wants to be free of it.

You leave with a clear plan and a quick technique for any craving that comes along in the first weeks.

What we'll do in sessions

  • A detailed look at your smoking or vaping pattern
  • One focused session on the habit and triggers
  • A technique for cravings and "just one" moments
  • Support to stay on track afterwards
How many sessions? Usually one longer focused session, sometimes with a follow-up a week or two later.

Stopping smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health. Your GP or local NHS stop smoking service can also offer support, and you can use both.

Questions people ask

Does it work for vaping too?

Yes. The approach is the same: the habit, the triggers and the moments it's tied to.

Will I put on weight?

Some people worry about this, so we can include healthy ways of handling the urges that food sometimes replaces.

Do I have to want to stop?

Yes. Hypnotherapy works with your own wish to stop; it can't make you do something you don't want to.

Sessions are available in person in Hexham and online, wherever you are.
